Chris Covington D.O.

Chris moved to Wilmington NC in 2014 with his wife Jenn and his two daughters, Grace and Shelby. He is a cataract and refractive surgeon at Wilmington Eye and has always had a loveof aviation. In high school he had dreams of flying jets in the military but decided to pursue other opportunities at that time.
 
Multiple times in his adult life he contemplated getting hispilots license but the timing was never right. That was until 2023 when he decided to take the leap headfirst into flying. Since then Chris has pursued many ratings, accumulated over 650hrs and has flown as many different airplanes as possible with the purpose of becoming the safest pilot he could be.

He enjoys teaching and has a special interest in flying tailwheelaircraft and aerobatics. He has spent time at Patty Wagstaff’s Aviation Safety in St Augustine Florida and recently spent a week at Tac Aero in Fredericksburg Texas taking and advancedtailwheel course.
 
When he is not flying or working his “day job” Chris loves free diving, spearfishing and playing golf. Chris looks forward to sharing his love and passion for aviation with others and help each student achieve his/her goals.
